Connie’s birthplace is Constance Elaine, Denver, Colorado. Willie is a graduate of Colorado State College, now the University of Northern Colorado in 1967.  She completed her degrees in English and Elementary Education.

She worked as an elementary school teacher from 1967 to 1968 and junior high teacher from 1968 to 1969 at Branford, Connecticut, public schools.
