Is Karsten Warholm Gay? Relationship & Girlfriend
The internet is mostly intellectual and an infinite source of facts and truth. However, it can also be misleading at times Karsten Warholm gay rumors are one of them.
This rumor is baseless as Karsten already has a long-term girlfriend, her name is Oda Djuvpik. According to Karsten, Oda suffered from cancer when she was just 18-years-old. She had a lump on her lymph node for a couple of years.
The illness causes problems like
- lump or swelling in your neck, under your arm, or in your groin
- shortness of breath (if cancer spreads to the lungs)
However, recently it was reported that she is cancer-free. After her recovery she had this to say:
“It was tough, but luckily my body handled it very well, so I could live quite normally”
She is very supportive of Karsten as it seems that she appears in almost every possible match that he participates in. Fortunately, she was cancer-free just before Warholm’s World Championships debut in London and could attend the event.
What Oda said after his boyfriend won is truly loveable, and inspiring:
“It’s really an incredibly happy story. I finished my last treatment the day I traveled to London. When we met after he won, it was the first time we met after I became cancer-free. Both had won their match, which we had fought together,”
Furthermore, scrolling down on Oda’s Instagram, she seems to have an MSc in Finance. Going further into her Facebook, Oda has stated that she has been with Karsten since December of 2014, that’s 7 years.
Karsten Warholm World Record Breaker in 400 m hurdles
Over 400m, the world record holder and Norwegian world champion, Karsten Warholm, fought thick and thin with his greatest American rival Rai Benjamin. As both of them ran like no other and there was barely a stride between them as they sprinted and jumped over 10 imposing hurdles.
Although Warholm’s body looked tired he just had a little more as they pushed each other to the line.
Warholm looked at the clock and screamed after he crossed the line. He had obliterated his old 400m hurdles world record of 46.70 by a staggering 0.76.
After Warholm broke the world record, he had this to say about the race:
“In the last 20 metres I couldn’t feel my legs. I just ran for my life. I was coming, I just ran out of space.”
He also admits how tiresome the entire race was and his journey towards the gold. The world record holder states:
“I ran sort of scared, but that’s something that I always do,”
“I knew that with my fast opening, I was up on the side of dos Santos and Samba really early in the race. That was my tactic today, I think I won on tactics. I really went out hard and tried to get the guys with me … after that I just ran for my life. I would have died for that gold medal.”
His American rival Benjamin had this to say about him and Warholm:
“It was a phenomenal race. We tore the old record to pieces. It was like child’s play.
Benjamin continued as he also smashed the old world record running 46.17.
If you would have told me that I was going to run 46.1 and lose, I would probably beat you up and tell you to get out of my room. This is the greatest race ever in Olympic history. It’s undeniable.”
Moreover, this was the golden era of 400-hurdles as the 21-year-old Alison dos Santos became the third-fastest man over the distance by running 46.72. Afterward, Kyron McMaster, who was fourth in 47.08s, described the experience as like “running on air”.
