Stephen Sondheim was born on March 22, 1930, in New York, the U.S. He died on November 26, 2021, in Roxbury, Connecticut, U.S. The musical theatre legend has passed away at the age of 91 years old.

According to The New York Times, the news of his demise was confirmed by his friend and lawyer F. Richard Pappas. The immediate cause of his death has not been known yet.

From a young age, he was interested in music and also learned piano for two years and carried on with the music career throughout his education. Besides, he did his further studies at William College in Massachusetts.
